Does Hope Group Need a Change?​
Background: Recently, some Hope Group members have expressed concerns about spending by the AA General Service Board, and some AA groups have used the “power of the purse” to decrease or withhold contributions to the GSO. Specific concerns have included:​
​
Loss of confidence in how contributions are spent.​
Lack of communication and transparency about finances.​
Concerns that the Group Conscience of the Fellowship is not heard or acted upon by the Board, who are charged with serving AA groups and AA as a whole.​
Concerns that the AA message is being changed through amendments to publications and new books, pamphlets, social media and other communications.

Current Hope Group Contributions:​
Hill Country Intergroup 25% 
District 22 25% ​
Area 68 25% ​
GSO (General Service Office) 25% ​
(Percentages are taken from funds left over after HopeGroup needs are covered.)
